Coal Miners Prayer Picture Frame, Black and White Mining Wall Art

Description

A Coal Miner’s Prayer, printed in black and white with the verse on one side and a miner walking up a hollow with his lunch pail on the other, then framed. It comes in an 8×8 and an 11×14, each in four frame colors. As a coal miners prayer picture frame it honors the work itself, so it suits a whole family of miners rather than one person, and it reads as well in a den in coal country as in a grandson’s apartment far from the mines.

The words are a miner’s own prayer. He rises at dawn knowing what the day holds, a pit filled with coal, and goes down to scratch out a living the best that he can. The prayer talks about black covered faces and hard calloused hands and riding the dark tunnels to start the shift, and then it turns inward: deep in the heart lies the soul of a man. The final line asks the Lord to harvest that soul. Families keep it for the father who worked the mines for thirty years, the grandfather who came home black with coal dust, or the uncle who never talked about the danger. It makes fitting coal miner art for a retirement, a Father’s Day or Christmas gift, or a memorial for a miner who is gone, and it belongs with other vintage coal miner photos and keepsakes.

We make each print to order in our family-owned workshop in Northeast Ohio and finish it by hand with fade-resistant inks that keep the grey tones sharp. It is made in the USA by a small family business, and the four frame colors suit a rustic cabin or a modern office alike. It sits well with mining decor already on the wall, from old headlamps to company scrip.

The 8×8 stands on a built-in easel back on a desk, mantel or shelf, or hangs on the wall. The 11×14 hangs on the wall, a good size for a hallway, an office or a union hall. Both have a clear front panel that is lightweight and shatter-resistant, so the print stays clean. As coal miner wall art it holds its own beside family photos.

Choose a size and frame color and give a coal miners prayer picture frame to the miner, or the mining family, who will understand every line.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
