Marriage

A marriage collects more paper than people expect: invitations, cards, the order of service, the guest book. Most of it ends up in a box. Marriage wall art is the piece that does not. These are framed poems about marriage itself, and about the people who got the couple to the altar, meant to hang in the house the two of them make together.

What We Carry

Two kinds of poem, bought by two kinds of people. The first is written for the marriage: verses on love that is patient and kind, Irish blessings, wedding vows set as a poem, and pieces about two people falling in love and building a life from it. The second is written for the family around the wedding. A bride's thank-you to her mother, to both parents, or to her father on the day he walks her down the aisle. A verse for a new mother-in-law. A keepsake for the flower girl.

Further along sit the love poems a husband gives his wife, and the other way round, for a marriage well past the wedding day. There are also a few memorial verses for the loss of a husband, for the chapter nobody plans for.

Choosing The Right Poem

Start with who is giving it, then who is receiving it. A parent's thank-you from the bride reads very differently from a blessing on the couple, and the wrong one feels slightly off on the day. Wedding party gifts work best handed over at the rehearsal dinner or the morning of the wedding, when there is still a moment to read them. A poem for the couple can wait for the first anniversary, when the thank-you cards are finished and the walls are still bare.

Frames With A Photo Opening

Many designs have an opening beside the verse for a photograph of your own. The parents' version takes a picture from the wedding day, the couple's version their first photo as a married pair. We print the artwork and you add the picture once you have it, so nothing has to be uploaded and the gift is not held up waiting for the photographer.

Sizes And Frames

Four frame colors: Barnwood, Charcoal, Black, and Walnut. The smaller sizes carry a fold-out easel back as well as a hanger, so they can stand on a dresser or a gift table before they find a wall. A few designs also come on canvas, a 1-inch gallery wrap that hangs without nails or tools.
