Hunting and fishing wall art is almost always a gift for one particular person, and the first question is which kind of outdoorsman they are. A fly fisherman and a deep-sea angler share very little, and a bow hunter will tell you so if you hand him a rifle print. That is why most of this collection is split by the way somebody hunts or fishes. Everything is made to order in our family-owned shop in the USA.
What We Carry
The Fisherman's Prayer, set on the water each angler knows: fly fishing on a river, bass fishing, deep sea, and the flats. The Happy Place frames in those same four, plus a bow hunter with a compound bow and a deer hunter with a whitetail buck. A Bow Hunter's Prayer and a Deer Hunter's Prayer, and a bow hunter poem. For the humour end of the shelf: a husband's honest confession about fishing, a fly fishing quote, a camp-house hunting quote, and a vintage hunting camp print. And patent prints from the original drawings of a fishing rod, a fishing lure and an archery arrow.
Choosing The Right One
Match the water or the woods first. The prayers and the Happy Place frames are drawn for a particular kind of trip, and the person receiving one will notice whether it is their kind. The patent drawings sidestep the question — a rod or a lure suits anybody who fishes, and an arrow suits any archer.
The funny pieces go to the cabin, the camp or the garage. The prayers tend to go to the house, and they are often a gift from a wife or a grown child.
Add The Photograph
Most of the picture frames have an opening for your own photo, and that is the whole point of them: the catch everybody still talks about, the first buck, a father and son in a boat. We print the scene and the words; you slip in the picture.
Sizes, Frames And Canvas
Framed pieces come in four frame colors — Barnwood, Charcoal, Black, and Walnut — with an easel back, so they stand on a desk or a cabin mantel as well as hang. The patent prints are on 1-inch gallery-wrapped canvas that hangs without nails or tools, with a floating frame available as an upgrade.
A Gift Note
For a retirement, a Happy Place frame holding a photo of the actual place says more than a card can. For somebody who has lost the person they used to fish or hunt with, the prayer pieces are the gentler choice.
