If You Are Buying One As A Gift

Monet is one of the few painters almost nobody dislikes, which makes him a safe choice when you do not know somebody's taste well. Water Lilies is the obvious pick and there is no shame in it — it has been on walls for a century because it works. If you want something less expected from the same hand, Poplars on the Epte and Cliff Walk get chosen far less often and are the better conversation.

For a wedding or an anniversary, the Argenteuil pictures carry the idea of a day out together without spelling it out. For a new home, the garden paintings do the same job flowers do, and last longer.
