Bridge at Argenteuil Canvas Print, Monet’s 1874 Seine River Wall Art

Price range: $29.99 through $54.99

This bridge at argenteuil canvas print reproduces Claude Monet’s 1874 view of the rebuilt stone road bridge at Argenteuil, with two sailboats moored below.

Monet painted this stone road bridge — a separate structure from the iron railway bridge nearby that he also painted — soon after the original crossing was destroyed in the Franco-Prussian War and the town rebuilt it.

Printed and gallery-wrapped by hand in our family-owned workshop in NE Ohio; the canvas holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage.

Upgrade to the floating frame for extra depth, or keep the classic gallery-wrapped edge.

Description

This canvas reproduces Claude Monet’s The Bridge at Argenteuil, painted in 1874, with the stone-piered road bridge arching across the Seine and two sailboats moored below, their masts touched with ochre. It’s printed on gallery-wrapped canvas in two sizes, 14×11 and 20×16, offered plain or upgraded to a floating frame. As a bridge at argenteuil canvas print it arrives finished and ready to hang, in the size and style you choose at checkout.

Argenteuil’s road bridge was destroyed during the Franco-Prussian War in 1870 and rebuilt within a few years; Monet painted the new stone-piered crossing in 1874, a distinct subject from the iron railway bridge a short distance downstream that he also painted separately. The pink-roofed house on the far bank and the moored sailboats place it squarely in the boating town he called home through his central Impressionist years. Up close, the brushwork reads as quick, sunlit strokes carrying the reflections on the water, and the painting now hangs at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

Each canvas is made to order and printed in our family-owned workshop in Northeast Ohio, stretched over gallery-wrapped bars with fade-resistant inks that hold their color in direct light. It reproduces a public-domain painting, over a century old, which is exactly why a small shop like ours can offer it. Pick the classic gallery-wrapped canvas for a clean, modern edge, or the floating frame canvas for a bit more depth and shadow around the piece.

The canvas hangs with an adhesive strip already included — it holds securely without nails or tools, and removes cleanly later without holes or wall damage, so it works as well in a rental or dorm as it does in a permanent home. Both sizes, 14×11 and 20×16, ship ready to hang, and the floating frame upgrade is worth considering if you want the river view to sit forward off the wall.

The wide river view fills a wall with air and light, calm enough for a study and lively enough for an entryway. Pick gallery-wrapped or floating frame, and it’s made to order and on its way.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.

Crossroads Home Decor is built around one simple idea: to Inspire, Encourage, and Connect. If you have any questions about this listing or your order, please send us a message — we’re happy to help. Thank you for supporting a small family business.
