Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies Canvas Print, Monet’s 1899 Vertical Wall Art

Description

This canvas reproduces Claude Monet’s Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies, painted in 1899, with the pale green Japanese footbridge arching over the water and lily pads filling the canvas below it. It’s printed on gallery-wrapped canvas in two sizes, 11×14 and 16×20, offered plain or upgraded to a floating frame. As a bridge over a pond of water lilies canvas print it arrives finished and ready to hang, in the size and style you choose at checkout.

Monet built the Japanese-style footbridge over the lily pond in his garden at Giverny in the 1890s, and this canvas is one of the earliest paintings he made of it, in 1899 — well before the later series in which the bridge disappears and only water and lilies fill the frame. The vertical format is unusual for him; most of his garden paintings run wide and horizontal, but here the bridge crosses high above the water while willow fronds trail down toward the lily pads, pulling the eye downward into the pond, where up close the brushwork reads as loose and atmospheric rather than finely detailed. It belongs to the same late Impressionist period as his other Giverny work, and the original hangs today at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Each canvas is made to order and printed in our family-owned workshop in Northeast Ohio, stretched over gallery-wrapped bars with fade-resistant inks that hold their color in direct light. It reproduces a public-domain painting, over a century old, which is exactly why a small shop like ours can offer it. Pick the classic gallery-wrapped canvas for a clean, modern edge, or the floating frame canvas for a bit more depth and shadow around the piece.

The canvas hangs with an adhesive strip already included — it holds securely without nails or tools, and removes cleanly later without holes or wall damage, so it works as well in a rental or dorm as it does in a permanent home. Both sizes, 11×14 and 16×20, ship ready to hang, and the floating frame upgrade is worth considering for a narrow wall where the vertical format has room to stretch.

The tall footbridge composition suits a narrow hallway or a spot beside a doorway where a wide landscape wouldn’t fit. Pick gallery-wrapped or floating frame, and it’s made to order and on its way.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
