Sous-Bois Under the Trees Canvas Print by Paul Cezanne, Forest Wall Art

Description

Paul Cezanne’s forest interior, painted among the pines near Aix-en-Provence in the 1890s, printed edge to edge on gallery canvas in 11×14 and 16×20, with a floating-frame upgrade on either size. As a sous bois under the trees canvas print it holds close inside the thicket rather than opening onto a view – no sky, no figures, only trunks, branches, and the green and ochre light between them.

Cezanne set up close to his subject for this one, working the canvas in the same small, deliberate strokes he used on his mountains and his fruit, building the trunks and undergrowth patch by patch instead of blending them smooth. Historians point to exactly this kind of patient, structural brushwork as the hinge between Impressionism and the modern painting that followed, which is why Cezanne is still called a father of modern art. Up close the individual strokes are easy to pick out; from across a room they settle into a shaded, walkable stretch of forest floor.

Each canvas is made to order and made in the USA in our family-owned shop in Northeast Ohio, gallery-wrapped and printed with fade-resistant inks so the greens hold their color instead of fading toward yellow. Choose the classic gallery-wrapped canvas or the floating-frame upgrade for an office, study, or living room wall, and this piece of Cezanne wall art settles just as easily into forest decor, tree decor, or a gallery wall of canvas wall art.

The canvas arrives ready to hang in either style, and the included adhesive strips hold it securely without nails or tools, then remove cleanly without holes or wall damage whenever you want to move it. Pick 11×14 for a reading nook or 16×20 to anchor a larger wall, and the floating frame adds a shadow-box edge to either size.

Give a corner of the house the quiet of a real forest with a Sous-Bois Under the Trees canvas print that keeps Cezanne’s brushwork exactly as he laid it down.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
