Price range: $29.99 through $54.99

This beach at sainte adresse canvas print reproduces Claude Monet’s 1867 view of the Normandy coast near Le Havre, with fishing boats resting on a pebble beach.

Monet painted this beach in 1867, one of his earliest exhibited works, well before Impressionism had a name — a working beach with men in blue smocks and fishing boats, not a resort scene.

Printed and gallery-wrapped by hand in our family-owned workshop in NE Ohio; the canvas holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage.

Upgrade to the floating frame for extra depth, or keep the classic gallery-wrapped edge.

Description

This canvas reproduces Claude Monet’s The Beach at Sainte-Adresse, painted in 1867, with a blue rowing boat on the pebble beach, brown-sailed fishing boats offshore, and a green-shuttered villa above the shore. It’s printed on gallery-wrapped canvas in two sizes, 14×11 and 20×16, offered plain or upgraded to a floating frame. As a beach at sainte adresse canvas print it arrives finished and ready to hang, in the size and style you choose at checkout.

Monet painted this scene in 1867 at Sainte-Adresse, a fishing village near Le Havre on the Normandy coast where he had spent summers as a boy. He was twenty-six and still several years from the show that gave Impressionism its name, but up close the brushwork reads as loose and direct, with a plain interest in ordinary working boats over grand subjects, already pointing that way. It’s a different painting from his later, more famous Sainte-Adresse terrace scene with its flags and garden — this one stays down on the beach itself, among the men in blue smocks and the fishing boats. The original hangs today at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Each canvas is made to order and printed in our family-owned workshop in Northeast Ohio, stretched over gallery-wrapped bars with fade-resistant inks that hold their color in direct light. It reproduces a public-domain painting, over a century and a half old, which is exactly why a small shop like ours can offer it. Pick the classic gallery-wrapped canvas for a clean, modern edge, or the floating frame canvas for a bit more depth and shadow around the piece.

The canvas hangs with an adhesive strip already included — it holds securely without nails or tools, and removes cleanly later without holes or wall damage, so it works as well in a rental or dorm as it does in a permanent home. Both sizes, 14×11 and 20×16, ship ready to hang, and the floating frame upgrade is worth considering if you want the coastal scene to sit forward off the wall.

The cool blues and greens of this early coastal scene settle easily into a bedroom, bathroom, or sunroom. Pick gallery-wrapped or floating frame, and it’s made to order and on its way.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.

Crossroads Home Decor is built around one simple idea: to Inspire, Encourage, and Connect. If you have any questions about this listing or your order, please send us a message — we’re happy to help. Thank you for supporting a small family business.
