Description
A 1921 patent drawing of a leather brief case, printed on gallery-wrapped canvas in 11×14 and 16×20. As a briefcase patent canvas print it lays the case out in four sepia-toned views on aged parchment – the fold-over flap, the buckled straps, and a hinged handle bar built to keep its balance as the case filled up.
The case itself is an early-1920s design built around one small problem: a handle that stays level even after the bag is packed unevenly. A hinged bar under the handle lets it self-adjust, and the plate breaks that mechanism into its own detail views alongside the case as a whole.
