Telephone Patent Canvas Print, Antique Dial Lamp Wall Art Decor

Description

A telephone patent canvas print, reproducing a 1914 U.S. patent drawing for a lamp built to light an early telephone’s dial. The 11×14 suits a shelf or gallery wall, and the 16×20 makes a bolder statement for an entryway or home office.

The plate pairs a side view of the telephone – a fluted transmitter horn mounted on a wall backboard, with a small conical lamp shade swung out on a jointed arm – with a front view of the rotary dial, a disc of ten finger holes with the lamp bolted just above it. Filed in 1913 and published in 1914, the drawing shows a lamp built specifically to light the dial, so the numbers stayed readable after dark, well before lit dials became standard equipment. A wiring diagram on the same sheet shows the coil and contacts that switched the lamp on. It is a small, practical fix from the earliest days of the automatic dial telephone, and a detail most telephone history buffs never see illustrated this clearly.

Made in the USA, each canvas is made to order in our family workshop in Northeast Ohio and printed with fade-resistant inks on gallery-wrapped canvas. It suits a farmhouse kitchen, an entryway, or a home office built around vintage telephone decor, and it pairs naturally with other antique telephone wall art already on display for a landline collector building out a themed wall.

The classic gallery-wrapped canvas carries the image around the edges for a clean, finished look, and it hangs with adhesive strips already in the box – it holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, so it works in a rental or apartment just as well as a permanent home.

A telephone patent canvas print like this one gives a study or hallway a genuine piece of early communications history. Pick the size and the style, and it arrives ready to hang.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
