Description
Starry Night Over the Rhone, Van Gogh’s 1888 view of gaslight on the water at Arles, comes as a stretched gallery canvas in 14×11 or 20×16, wrapped-edge or with a floating frame added. This starry night over the rhone canvas print ships finished, the Big Dipper and gas lamps ready to hang as soon as it’s unpacked.
He worked at night on the riverbank at Arles to catch the gas lamps of the town reflected in the water, with the Big Dipper turning overhead and a couple walking the near bank. The painting now hangs in the Musee d’Orsay in Paris, one of Van Gogh’s few completed nocturnes and a forerunner to the more famous Starry Night he painted the next year at Saint-Remy. Thick, rolling brushstrokes carry the light across the water, and a printed canvas holds that texture better than a photograph on a page.
Each canvas is printed and stretched to order in our family workshop in Northeast Ohio, using fade-resistant inks that keep their color instead of yellowing in a sunny room. It’s made in the USA, one order at a time, and pairs naturally with other starry night wall art, blue wall decor, van gogh wall art, and gallery wall prints for anyone building a gallery wall.
Both the 14×11 and 20×16 canvas hold securely without nails or tools, and remove cleanly without holes or wall damage, using the adhesive strips already in the box – simple enough for a rental or a dorm room. Choose the classic gallery-wrapped edge for a clean, ready to hang look, or upgrade to the floating frame for extra depth over a sofa or a desk.
Starry Night Over the Rhone brings Van Gogh’s blue riverside evening into a living room, office, or reading nook without a trip to Paris. Pick the size that fits your wall and let the gas lamps do the rest.
Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
