Noon Rest From Work Canvas Print, Van Gogh Harvest Field Wall Art

Description

Noon Rest from Work, Vincent van Gogh’s 1890 painting of two harvesters asleep at midday, arrives printed on gallery-wrapped canvas in 14×11 and 20×16, with a floating-frame upgrade available at either size. As a noon rest from work canvas print, it comes stretched, sealed, and ready to hang, so the only decision left is size and style.

During the winter that carried him from 1889 into 1890, while a patient at the asylum in Saint-Remy, Van Gogh reworked a print after Jean-Francois Millet into this sunlit harvest scene, trading Millet’s muted tones for his own blaze of gold and blue. Two farmhands lie asleep at midday on a mound of golden straw, having set their wooden shoes and a sickle at their feet while a pair of yoked oxen rest nearby in the field beyond. Some collectors know the painting by the shorthand The Siesta, but its full title is Noon: Rest from Work, and the original hangs today at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris.

Each canvas is made to order in our family-owned shop in NE Ohio, printed with fade-resistant inks and gallery-wrapped over solid wood bars so the image continues around the edges with no white border. The 14×11 suits a hallway or desk wall, while the 20×16 holds a wall on its own as a statement piece, and either size settles into landscape wall art, kitchen wall decor, or a van gogh wall art gallery.

Hanging strips are included in the box – press them to the wall and the canvas holds securely without nails or tools, and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, which makes it workable in an apartment, a rental, a dorm, or an office. Choose gallery-wrapped for a clean, minimal edge, or the floating-frame upgrade for a raised border and a bit more presence on a larger wall.

Pick your size and style, and bring the warm, golden calm of Van Gogh’s harvest scene to your wall – a fitting choice for anyone who loves his work or a classic piece of landscape art.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
