Description
Liberty Leading the People, printed on gallery-wrapped canvas from Eugène Delacroix’s 1830 original at the Louvre. Available as an 14×11 or 20×16, in classic gallery-wrap canvas or the floating-frame style. As a liberty leading the people canvas print it carries Liberty striding forward with the tricolor flag in one hand and a musket in the other, leading the crowd over the barricade, straight onto the wall.
Delacroix painted this scene the year of the July Revolution and signed it “Eug. Delacroix 1830” along the beam at Liberty’s side. A top-hatted citizen and a boy with two pistols flank her as the crowd pushes forward, with the towers of Notre-Dame visible through the smoke behind them. The Louvre has held the painting since 1874, and it remains one of the defining images of French Romanticism.
Each canvas is printed and stretched to order in our family-owned workshop in Northeast Ohio, made in the USA with fade-resistant inks that keep the tricolor’s reds and blues true for years. Choose the classic gallery-wrapped canvas or upgrade to the floating-frame style for a look with more depth on the wall.
Both sizes hang with adhesive strips already in the box — press them to the wall and it holds securely without nails or tools, then removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, ideal for apartments, rentals, dorms, and offices. The floating frame is a simple upgrade if you want a shadow-box look without changing the print itself. The 20×16 commands a study or office wall on its own, while the 14×11 pairs easily with other history prints in a gallery wall.
Add this liberty leading the people canvas print to a gallery wall of history and fine art, or let it stand alone in a study or office.
Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
