A Huntsman and Dogs Canvas Print by Winslow Homer, 1891 Adirondack Art
Price range: $29.99 through $54.99
This Huntsman and Dogs canvas print reproduces Winslow Homer’s 1891 Adirondack scene on gallery canvas, from the fallen white birch log to the two hounds and the deer pelt beside the hunter.
Homer painted from his own seasons in the Adirondacks, and that first-hand outdoor knowledge is what gives the scene its unforced, working-day realism rather than a staged hunting tableau.
Made in the USA in our family-owned shop, it holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage.

Description
Winslow Homer’s 1891 Adirondack scene, A Huntsman and Dogs, printed edge to edge on gallery canvas in 14×11 and 20×16, with a floating-frame upgrade on either size. As a huntsman and dogs canvas print it keeps the young hunter seated on a fallen white birch log with a deer pelt at his side and two hounds close by, exactly as Homer set the scene in the Philadelphia Museum of Art original.
Homer spent real seasons hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks, and that first-hand time in the woods shows in how plainly he paints the moment – a hunter resting on a downed log with his dogs and the day’s kill, nothing staged or posed about it. Art historians rank Homer among the great American realists for exactly this kind of unforced outdoor subject, painted in the loose, confident brushwork he carried from his years as an illustrator. On canvas the muted browns, greens, and gray mountain light keep that same weathered, quiet mood.
Each canvas is made to order and made in the USA in our family-owned shop in Northeast Ohio, gallery-wrapped and printed with fade-resistant inks so the autumn palette holds its color for years. Choose the classic gallery-wrapped canvas or the floating-frame upgrade for a den, lodge, or study wall, and this piece of rustic wall art settles just as naturally into cabin decor, dog wall art, or a gallery wall of hunting decor.
The canvas arrives ready to hang in either style, and the included adhesive strips hold it securely without nails or tools, then remove cleanly without holes or wall damage whenever you rearrange the wall. Pick 14×11 for a den or 20×16 to anchor a larger lodge wall, and the floating frame adds a shadow-box edge that suits a cabin or study.
Bring Winslow Homer’s Adirondack sporting scene home with a Huntsman and Dogs canvas print that keeps the hunter, the hounds, and the quiet of the woods exactly as he painted them.
Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
