This 1884 fishing tackle patent stretches across gallery-wrapped canvas in 11×14 or 16×20. As a fishing rod patent canvas print it carries all six original figures – the full jointed rod with its bait-casting reel, the reel seat, the reel internals with the wound line spool, the line and its terminal fitting, and the rod ferrule – printed in fine schematic linework on an aged parchment ground. The claim behind the drawing is a line-twirling swivel, and the sheet lays out six figures: the full jointed rod with its bait-casting reel and cork-and-taper handle running corner to corner, the reel seat, the reel internals with the wound line spool, the line and its terminal fitting, and the rod ferrule, with a small hand-lettered note reading ‘light or friction swivel’ in the corner.
