Sleigh Patent Canvas Print, Vintage Horse-Drawn Winter Wall Art

Description

A sleigh patent canvas print, reproducing an 1893 U.S. patent drawing of a horse-drawn cutter. The 11×14 suits a shelf or gallery wall, and the 16×20 makes a bolder statement for an entryway or den, both gallery-wrapped and ready to hang.

The plate lays out the sleigh’s scrolled runners, its tufted seat back and the draught shafts that once connected it to a horse – an 1893 refinement of the cutter, drawn across two full sheets. It’s a genuine piece of 19th-century engineering rather than a holiday illustration, and it reads that way up close. Sleighs like this one were everyday transportation before the automobile, not a holiday prop, and the patent record is one of the few places that ordinary engineering survives in this much detail.

Made in the USA, each canvas is made to order in our family workshop in Northeast Ohio and printed with fade-resistant inks on gallery-wrapped canvas. It suits an entryway, den or farmhouse hallway year-round, and it also makes a fitting winter or Christmas gift for anyone who loves genuine antique design.

The classic gallery-wrapped canvas carries the image around the edges for a clean, finished look, and it hangs with adhesive strips already in the box – it holds securely without nails or tools, and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, so it travels well between apartments, rentals, dorms and offices. Pair the 11×14 with the 16×20 for a two-piece grouping in an entryway or den, or hang either size on its own as a single winter statement piece.

A sleigh patent canvas print like this one brings honest 19th-century craftsmanship to a wall, all year long. Pick the size and the style, and it arrives ready to hang.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
