Basketball Patent Canvas Print, Vintage 1929 Basketball Wall Art

Description

This canvas reproduces a 1929 patent sheet for a basketball, available at 11×14 or 16×20 as gallery-wrapped canvas. As a basketball patent canvas print it studies the ball itself in five separate views, from a three-quarter angle down to the flat leather cutting pattern, printed from the original drafting lines rather than a modern redraw.

The plate breaks the ball down piece by piece: the long curved panels meeting along a stitched centre seam, the zig-zag stitching at the end cap, a small valve at the centre, and the flat cutting pattern showing how the leather was laid out and cut before assembly. It’s a small piece of basketball history, from the era when the ball’s own construction was still being patented and refined. Hung above a trophy case, a desk, or a bookshelf, it reads as authentic sports patent art rather than a themed novelty piece, at home in a den, office, or game room.

Each canvas is made to order in our family-owned shop in NE Ohio, printed with fade-resistant inks and gallery-wrapped over sturdy stretcher bars. At 16×20 it commands a wall as a genuine statement piece for a den or game room; at 11×14 it settles just as easily onto a smaller office wall. It’s the kind of vintage basketball patent print a serious collector recognizes as a real drafting sheet, not a reprint made to look old.

Hanging is simple: the canvas comes fitted with adhesive strips, so it holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, whether the wall is drywall, plaster, or a rental’s fresh paint. Both the 11×14 and 16×20 sizes ship ready to hang, and either size suits a den full of other sports patent prints.

Choose your size and give a den, office, or game room a genuine piece of basketball history, ready to hang the day it arrives.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
