Two real patent drawings, framed together at 11×14 in Barnwood, Charcoal, Black, or Walnut. As a motorcycle engine patent print it pairs a 1923 V-twin engine cutaway with a 2006 cruiser design patent, spanning nearly ninety years of motorcycle engineering on one sheet.
The engine patent, No. 1,472,068, is W. S. Harley’s own filing – submitted April 25, 1919 and granted October 30, 1923 – a full cutaway of a V-twin engine down to the internal parts. Paired with it is US D517,957 S, a 2006 design patent for a modern cruiser, granted March 28 that year. Both keep their original numbers and dates exactly as filed.
