Sports

Sports wall art in this shop comes in two kinds, and they get bought for different people. One is the patent drawing — the ball, the bat, the skate, exactly as an inventor filed it. The other is the picture frame with room for a photo of the player, bought by a parent, a grandparent or a whole team at the end of a season. Both are made to order in our family-owned shop in the USA.

What We Carry

Patent prints from the original drawings: baseball bats, gloves and an 1887 diamond; the football and the football helmet; the basketball, the goal and a 1971 high-top; hockey sticks, skates, helmets and nets; golf drivers, irons and bags; tennis rackets and the court; soccer balls, shoes and goals; boxing gloves and the speed bag; skis, poles, boots and goggles; skateboards; and the game-room shelf — billiard cues, tables and racks, bowling pins and balls.

Then the photo frames, one sport at a time: baseball, softball, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, hockey, lacrosse, track and field, cheerleading, ballet and figure skating. Golfers get their own shelf of funny clubhouse quotes and A Golfer's Prayer. Coaches get a thank-you print, A Truly Great Coach Is Hard to Find.

Choosing Between Them

The patent drawings suit an adult who plays or follows a game seriously, and they belong in a den, an office or a basement bar. They are quiet on the wall and read as design first and sport second, which is why they sit comfortably beside other decor.

The photo frames are for a season, a team, a kid. Each has an opening where you slip in your own photograph — we print the design, you add the picture. That makes them the easy end-of-season gift for a whole roster, and the thing a grandparent actually keeps on the shelf.

Sizes, Frames And Canvas

Framed pieces come in four frame colors — Barnwood, Charcoal, Black, and Walnut — with an easel back, so they stand on a desk or a dresser as well as hang. The patent prints are on 1-inch gallery-wrapped canvas that hangs without nails or tools, with a floating frame available as an upgrade.

A Gift Note

For a coach, buy one frame and let the team fill it with a group photo; it lands better than anything with a slogan on it. For the player who has outgrown the trophies, a patent drawing of the gear they used for years is the grown-up version of the same idea. And for a game room, three patents from one sport hang together far better than three from different ones.
