Typewriter Patent Canvas Print, Antique 1896 Office Wall Art
Price range: $29.99 through $34.99
This typewriter patent canvas print reproduces an 1896 U.S. patent drawing for an early typewriter, in warm sepia tones on gallery-wrapped canvas.
The plate’s keyboard is fully legible, and its letter arrangement is not the one typewriters settled on – a detail a typewriter history buff will spot right away.
Made in the USA and gallery-wrapped by hand, it holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage.

Description
A typewriter patent canvas print, reproducing an 1896 U.S. patent drawing for an early typewriter. The 11×14 suits a shelf or gallery wall, and the 16×20 makes a bolder statement for a home office or study.
The plate shows the machine in three-quarter view alongside a plan of the keyboard and carriage, filed in 1889 and published in 1896 – two decades after the first typewriter keyboards were patented. The letter arrangement on this plate is entirely different from the layout typewriters settled on, a small reminder that today’s keyboard took years of tinkering to get right. It is the kind of design detail a mass-market typewriter poster never gets right, and it is exactly why a genuine patent drawing reads differently than a stock illustration.
Made in the USA, each canvas is made to order in our family workshop in Northeast Ohio and printed with fade-resistant inks on gallery-wrapped canvas. It suits a home office, a library, or a writer’s den built around vintage typewriter decor, and it pairs naturally with other antique typewriter wall art already on a bookshelf or writing desk.
The classic gallery-wrapped canvas carries the image around its edges for a clean, finished look. It hangs with adhesive strips already in the box – it holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, so it works in a rental or apartment just as well as a permanent home.
A typewriter patent canvas print like this one gives a home office or study a genuine piece of writing-machine history. Pick the size and the style, and it arrives ready to hang.
Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
