Return of the Prodigal Son Canvas Print – Rembrandt Christian Art

Description

The Return of the Prodigal Son, Rembrandt’s painting of a father embracing his kneeling, ragged son while quiet witnesses look on, is printed here on gallery-wrapped canvas at 11×14 and 16×20, with a floating-frame upgrade available at both sizes. As the return of the prodigal son canvas print for a living room, office, or prayer corner, it arrives finished and ready to place on the wall.

Rembrandt painted the scene around 1661, near the end of his life, drawing on the parable in Luke 15 of a son who is welcomed home without a word of reproach. The father’s hands, one broad and steady and the other softer, rest on the son’s shoulders in a gesture read for centuries as the whole of forgiveness in one motion. It hangs as both a Christian devotional piece and a masterwork of Dutch Baroque painting, the deep shadow and warm light unmistakably Rembrandt’s own.

Each canvas is made in the USA, printed and finished to order in our family-owned workshop in Northeast Ohio, edge to edge with fade-resistant inks and stretched over a solid wood frame for a clean, gallery finish. Choose the classic gallery-wrapped canvas for a simple, timeless look, or upgrade to the floating frame for a finished, museum-style edge – both hold their color for years without fading in ordinary indoor light. It suits christian wall decor, a Catholic home, or any room built around Biblical art.

The 11×14 fits neatly above a desk or side table, while the 16×20 statement piece is sized to anchor a larger wall in a living room, study, or chapel space. Wall hangers are included, so it holds securely without nails or tools and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage – a real advantage in a rental, apartment, or dorm.

Give it to someone who needs to be reminded that mercy is real, or hang it in your own home as a quiet reminder – either way, it is ready to hang the day it arrives.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
