As an anniversary poem frame it arrives finished — the verse already in place — so the photograph is the only piece still missing. It works as well for a first anniversary as it does for a fortieth one.
The poem is an acrostic: read the first letter of each line downward and it spells ANNIVERSARIES. It opens “Asking and receiving love and / Needing, having someone there,” then moves through nurturing and shared ideals, voices raised in laughter, ears that hear the word not said, and quarrels reconciled with love put back in its place. Read together, the lines describe patience more than passion — the version of love that actually lasts.
You add the photo once the frame arrives. The formal wedding photo often gets skipped in favor of something more recent and less posed — a kitchen, a holiday, a dog. A clear front panel keeps the verse and the photograph both sharp for years.
