Film Canister Patent Canvas Print – 1937 Cartridge Blueprint

Price range: $29.99 through $34.99

This film canister patent canvas print reproduces a 1937 patent drawing for a reloadable 35mm camera cartridge, in aged sepia tones on canvas.

The plate shows the cartridge assembled, then taken apart: the end cap, the spool with film wound around it, and the slotted shell that keeps the roll light-tight – the kind of detail a photography collector keeps on a darkroom wall.

Made in the USA and gallery-wrapped in our family workshop in NE Ohio, it comes in 11×14 and 16×20, and hangs securely without nails or tools.

Description

This canvas print reproduces a 1937 patent drawing for a reloadable 35mm film cartridge, printed on gallery-wrapped canvas in two sizes, 11×14 and 16×20. As a film canister patent canvas print it arrives ready to hang, the exploded cartridge views and hand-lettered figure numbers already in place, so the only decision left is which size suits the wall.

The drawing lays out a still-camera film cartridge in five views: the cartridge assembled with its lipped end cap and a strip of film feeding out through a light-trap slot, an exploded view of the cap, spool, and shell, a lengthwise section, a cross-section showing the coiled film, and a close-up of the end-cap fitting. It was designed for the small candid cameras of the day, meant to be reloaded by hand rather than thrown away after one roll. It reads like a genuine 1937 engineering record, plain and technical, and settles into a den, office, or darkroom built around film photography rather than as a decoration.

This canvas is printed and hand-finished in our family workshop in Northeast Ohio, made in the USA and stretched over gallery-wrapped stretcher bars with fade-resistant inks that hold their color for years. Each one is made to order, so the fine lines and lettering stay sharp instead of washing out the way a cheaper print can. It suits a film photographer, darkroom hobbyist, or vintage-patent collector rounding out an office or den with genuine analog photography history, and pairs naturally with other camera patent canvas wall art.

Both sizes ship with hanging strips that hold securely without nails or tools, and remove cleanly without holes or wall damage, so it moves easily between an apartment, a rental, or a permanent home. The 11×14 fits a shelf or a narrow wall, and the 16×20 commands a room on its own. Either size is gallery-wrapped, with the image carried around the edges.

Add a genuine piece of 1937 photographic engineering to your wall with a film canister patent canvas print that looks equally at home in a study, office, or darkroom built around film photography.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.

Crossroads Home Decor is built around one simple idea: to Inspire, Encourage, and Connect. If you have any questions about this listing or your order, please send us a message — we’re happy to help. Thank you for supporting a small family business.
