Camping Tent Patent Canvas Print, Vintage Guy-Line Cabin Wall Art

Description

A camping tent patent canvas print, reproducing an 1880 U.S. patent drawing of a wedge tent pitched on open grass with its four guy lines staked out. The 11×14 suits a shelf or gallery wall, and the 16×20 makes a bolder statement for a cabin, den or office, both gallery-wrapped and ready to hang.

Look closely and the actual patent isn’t the tent at all – it’s a small metal slip on each guy line, the part that lets a camper tighten or loosen a rope without tying and retying a knot. The 1880 drawing shows the whole wedge tent around it, because a slip only makes sense shown in use. It’s a small, practical idea, and the drawing still explains it clearly a century and a half later. Small fittings like this one rarely survive with a patent record at all, which makes this plate an unusually complete look at ordinary camping gear from more than a century ago.

Made in the USA, each canvas is made to order in our family workshop in Northeast Ohio and printed with fade-resistant inks on gallery-wrapped canvas. It suits a cabin, den, mudroom or lodge room, and it makes a fitting gift for anyone who camps, hikes, or simply loves early outdoor gear.

The classic gallery-wrapped canvas has the image carried around the edges for a clean, finished look. It hangs with adhesive strips already in the box – it holds securely without nails or tools, and removes cleanly without holes or wall damage, so it travels well between apartments, rentals, dorms and offices.

A camping tent patent canvas print like this one gives a cabin wall a genuine piece of outdoor-gear history. Pick the size and the style, and it arrives ready to hang.

Every order is made and packed by hand in our family shop in Northeast Ohio. We use premium gallery-wrapped canvas, high-quality frame material and fade-resistant inks for both prints and canvas. Each frame is made to order and shipped same or next business day.
